final passage
across the water
on a lonely spot
with the sky for company
water for a friend
he watches from this vantage point
day after day
week after week
watching them enter
to a world full of hope
ambitions unfulfilled
a world ruled by paper
watching them leave
leave behind memories
memories of a blissful life
weighed down with materialistic greed.
day after day
night after night
pendulum of balance swinging to the other side
minute after minute
hour after hour
pendulum of greed stuck to this side
he watches
he waits
day after day
week after week
burdened by the greed above
reaching out to none below
he waits
for the eternal strike to his final passage
across the lake to the other side
