Betrayed

Never did I think
I’d ever see the day
when friends such as us
would go our seperate ways
I stood beside you
when times were sad & low
you gave me hope
taught me how to grow
but always in the background
something just wasn’t right
that finally reared its head
that night
You placed me in a position
that a friend should never do
and so has come the time
to step away from you.

You walk away so easily
broken hearts lie in your wake
never thinking of the damage caused
because someone made a mistake
You leech upon sad feelings
with words that mean so much
wipe away the drying tears
with your oh so gentle touch
Not because you sympathise
not because you care
just to get into her knickers
just to sample her wares
but what you leave behind
as you casually walk away
stays with her for ever more
until her dying day
and so my x best friend
my thoughts i’ve tried to relay
but when it comes right down to it
only one word fits - BETRAYED!
