From IE Blogs
Today we released Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP. I encourage everyone to download the final version from http://www.microsoft.com/ie.
We listened carefully to feedback from many sources (including this blog) and worked hard to deliver a safer browser that makes everyday tasks easier. When I first posted publicly about IE7, I wrote that we would go further to defend users from phishing and malicious software. The Phishing Filter and the architectural work in IE7 around networking and ActiveX opt-in will help keep users more secure. IE7 also delivers a much easier browsing experience with features like tabbed browsing (especially with QuickTabs), shrink-to-fit printing, an easily customizable search box, and a new design that leaves more screen real estate for the web site you’re viewing. IE7’s CSS improvements are incredibly important for developers as many of you have made quite clear. I also think IE7’s RSS experience and platform are important, powerful, and innovative.
From a personal point of view, i really like IE 7. Recent few weeks have been horrible with Firefox - Frequent Crashes, Memory Intensive and stuff..
But IE 7 looks nice and esp the Fonts look so good in this. It will be only a matter of days before i switch all my bookmarks to IE 7 :)
Staying with this,
I just love the new Windows Live Mail. I checked the emails an hour ago and it was the old layout. Now when i checked again, the layout has changed and it has got a very nice look to it and its faster as well. Unlike the Bulky Yahoo, Windows Live Mail is very good :)
Lets get on with the disclaimer first
Dictionary.com defines plagiarism as
1. the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one’s own original work.
2. something used and represented in this manner.
Scenario:
A little newbie (whom i shall refer as kid) joins one of the top forums, starts a new thread about something he has just found out through trial and error. Unfortunately for him, his english is not good, so its all written in broken english and in the manner he understood.
In jumps 10 or more other members dumb enough to place an undue importance on his english rather than on what he is trying to say. So they heckle him out of the thread and possibly the board.
Now our Top SEO walks in to the arena, sees this post and realizes the importance of it and what it can do. So he takes the little information given by that kid, adds more glamour to it and in his pixel perfect english writes a blog/thread or whatever.
He writes it in the manner that all “credits” are attributed to him and how this suddenly came to him while eating his breakfast or playing his game.
People like you and me are so gullible that we latch on to each and every single word without ever realizing that this so called fantastic post is all “stolen”.
Ironically, this tops all those must read lists, websites and whatever out there.
Fast forward to a few months, the kid is back having “mastered” the language he starts posting about his previous find once again. Sadly for him, he is once again humiliated and banned from the forum(s) and his post deleted because this has been explained by the Top SEO guy already!!! The kid goes back dejected and leaves to pursue something else where he wouldnt be made a laughing stock again…

Now, you might wonder why this big fuss all about?
as i said in the disclaimer, its not about the legality of things. Its more towards the moral values we talk about every single day in various different forms.
Why is this whole industry so EGO Driven that they shy away from giving a little credit to where its due?
People do come up with original stuff on many occasions but sometimes one too many puts the whole thing under suspect.
BruceClay SEO Code of ethics says
No SEO practitioner will falsely represent others work as their own. This includes the taking of work from others in whole or in part and representing this work as their own. The SEO practitioner may not make verbatim copies of the work of others (instead of authoring original work) without the prior consent of the other party.
Is it all driven by link juice/pagerank incentive that moral values are trampled upon every single day???
I am not the kid nor i am the top guy, i am just a guy sitting on the park bench watching all these unfold in this Mad World.

SEW quoting Times of India reports a Court in India has issued a notice to Google over Orkut for allegedly spreading hatred.
quoting SEW
The Times of India reports that Google is in hot water over Orkut once again, this time for allegedly spreading hatred for India. The article says, “The Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court has directed the Maharashtra government to issue notice to Google for the alleged spread of hatred about India by its social network service Orkut.” The problem is over a “We Hate India” community in Orkut that posted a picture a burning Indian flag.
Unfortunately this has not been picked up any of the major news channels who otherwise pick up all nonsense. maybe this is not of monetary use for them ;)
Well F them for it. Its there in SEW and its here Now :)
some new sites which i started in the past week or so…
I have another massive site in terms of content coming soon… i need to spend time to get the content proper and it requires lots of editing on my part. so it might be another couple of weeks before you see it, but i am sure you will love it :D
The ongoing Frankfurt Book Fair has generated quite a bit of media attention in India due to India theme adopted by the fair. The German media has also joined the party by going for a Hindi masthead. Taz, a German newspaper (http://www.taz.de/) has published a Hindi masthead in its issue dated 4th October.
This is the probably the first time I’m coming across a situation where a newspaper has tweaked it’s masthead to suit a particular occasion
