Easy Notepad Tip
This is really handy for people who use notepad to note their activities on a day to day basis. It gives a time stamp to the notepad file.
** Create a new notepad file with .LOG (in capitols) as the first line of the file, followed by a carriage (enter). Save it by any name.
** Double-click the file to open it and notice that Notepad appends the current date and time to the end of the file and places the cursor on the line after.
** Type your notes and then save and close the file.
Each time you open the file, Notepad repeats the process, appending the time and date to the end of the file and placing the cursor below it.
Hope it proves handy.
India Bans Blogs
Post-7/11, a Government order had directed all Internet service providers (ISP) in the country to block access to all blogs.
Various ISPs say they were asked to block access to a list of 20 odd websites, which these include sites like Dalitstan.org, Clickatell.com, Hinduunity.com, Princesskimberly.blogspot.com and Hinduhumanrights.org – all sites that supposedly spread extreme views.
But trying to prevent access to extremist views seems to have backfired on the Government, because instead of blocking only those specific blogs and possibly escaping all this attention – the ISPs have gone ahead and blocked all blogs.
The result is a united front on the part of the bloggers who want to know what’s going on for they could not access some of their favourite sites like Blogspot.com and Geocities.com.
However, ISPs say that they are not at fault for though a lot of the blocked sites are not on the list issued to them, there is a technical glitch as it’s not possible to block certain pages, without blocking the entire site.
The order banning blog sites was issued on July 13 though it was not officially announced. The Government alleges these blogsites were fuelling hatred and communalism.
However, the Government also clarified its stand saying that they were not trying to censor free speech in the country but that these sites have been under security check much before the terrorist attacks.
Strider Search Defender: Automatic and Systematic Discovery of Search Spammers through Non-Content Analysis
Comment spamming (or blog spamming) is a form of search spamming in which random comments, promoting links to commercial services, are automatically posted to publicly-accessible forums, guest books, blogs, message boards, etc.
A common approach to detecting spam web pages is through content analysis based on classification heuristics [2,3]. In this report, we propose an orthogonal context-based approach that uses URL-redirection analysis.
We(Microsoft) call our(this) approach the Search Defender approach.

Magazine Subscription, New Sites and lots more in this exciting post
i happened to come across this Search Marketing Standard Magazine today when i chanced upon Kim Krause’s Blog
I immediately when over to the website and had a look around and Subscribed to their Magazine for 2 years
i normally dont do a magazine subscription so fast. I take my time, read the reviews, scan the pages etc.. But in this case, i have been reading posts about it for a long time and my curiosity level was bit up.
i was thinking this is gonna be one of those US only magazines. But no, they ship worldwide for no additional costs.
Subscription is only $20 per year and $36 for 2 years if you live outside USA.
And if you live in USA, it half of this price.
Not a bad deal;)
