Until last month i recommended lunarpages to everyone - friends, clients, forums etc. - even though i read a lot of bad reviews.
I didnt think it would be so bad until i experienced it first hand.
In 7 days i found out how slow, careless and disrespectful they can be.
my account was suspended for using too much resources on the 14th because of the free counters i had offered to the visitors.
on the 17th i wanted to take a dedicated server.
I waited and waited and waited, no response and no solutions.
then i call them up only to be put on the queue for over 20 mins and some dickhead and keeps repeating the same thing like a parrot - email to the support they are 24hrs.
they call their email support 24/7.
right from the 14th all my queries were answered after 24 hrs!!!
then on the 19th one of their admins ( Vlad Artamonov) decided that i wouldnt be paying for the servers even after i asked them to let me know the amount previously.

Lunarpages and Esp. Vlad lack the basic decency when dealing with their customers.
During this 7 days of slow, unprofessional like attitude of lunarpages - i lost close to $200 + traffic.
the last days saw a surge in traffic as i had paid a local computer mag to run an ad for the site.
now thats gone down the drain and i lost some of my regular advertisers as well all because of the slow lazy approach by lunarpages in setting up a damn server.

problems crop up again.
this time hostgator has suspended the account as my site gets 100x traffic than normal.
so they want me to switch to dedicated server.
just checked the cost and its $17x per month.
so i have gone back to lunarpages and asked them about their dedicated server.
so until i get these sorted out,
webmasters cavern and thebigdirectory.org will be down :(

shabda from DP wrote the content and the layout is a modified version of a TM template ;)
I will be bringing back the articles as soon as i get some more time to change the layout to match this.
Also another site is almost done. what i wanted has been done. when i tried to restore the db in my server it gave me an error. so until thats sorted i wouldnt be messing with it.
i still have to design a layout for it and also have to decide if i am going to keep it or sell it. :D
and one of other site is being subjected to some lame DDos attacks so it has been taken offline :(

Disease-mongering promotes non-existent diseases and exaggerates mild problems to boost profits, the Public Library of Science Medicine reported. Researchers at Newcastle University in Australia said firms were putting healthy people at risk by medicalising conditions such as menopause. But the pharmaceutical industry denied it invented diseases.Report authors David Henry and Ray Moynihan criticised attempts to convince the public in the US that 43% of women live with sexual dysfunction. They also said that risk factors like high cholesterol and osteoporosis were being presented as diseases - and rare conditions such as restless leg condition and mild problems of irritable bowel syndrome were exaggerated. The report said: “Disease-mongering is the selling of sickness that widens the boundaries of illness and grows the markets for those who sell and deliver treatments. “It is exemplified mostly explicitly by many pharmaceutical industry-funded disease awareness campaigns - more often designed to sell drugs than to illuminate or to inform or educate about the prevention of illness or the maintenance of health.” The researchers called on doctors, patients and support groups to be aware of the marketing tactics of the pharmaceutical industry and for more research into the way in which conditions are presented.
They added: “The motives of health professionals and health advocacy groups may well be the welfare of patients, rather than any direct self-interested financial benefit, but we believe that too often marketers are able to crudely manipulate those motivations. “Disentangling the different motivations of the different actors in disease-mongering will be a key step towards a better understanding of this phenomenon.” But Richard Ley, of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, said the research was centred on the US where the drugs industry had much more freedom to promote their products to the public.

one of my new site just got a rank of 4. its not exactly new. its 4 months now and for the better part of this time it was never promoted. no incoming link. nothing.
only after feb i started submitting to new directories, note new directories and put it in my portfolio page here and in wc.
thats all.
the new Webmaster Directory in Webmasters Cavern got itself a PR of 6.
ok, all the old directory script pages have been redirected to this dir and i have submitted this dir section to some directories.
The main site has stayed the same but the Backlinks have increased. i was expecting this increase last time around. but this time it should have been more as i manually submitted it to all the directories in Dan’s SEO Directory list and to many many other places. but looks like i just have to wait for some more time.
I also Updated NeedaSig.com last week. Now it features a Massive 1500 different Styles of Email and Forum Signature along with a Quote Sig Generator features lots and lots of quotes ;) Check it out.
i will be selling the non webmaster sites in my portfolio soon.
i just dont have time to maintain them and i will be putting them on the market later.
Also i have 2 new sites coming up.
One is a normal site which i bought in DN Forum but i am getting the content rewritten for it.
Other one is something new. something which i couldnt find on the net like this.
I initially wanted to take only the domain and develop the content. but the bids for the site just kept increased so i took it at BIN even i wanted the domain only. the existing content is not a lot so i will be trashing the content and i hope to testdrive and launch it sometime in the coming week.
