February, 2006
Its been a while since i made a post and its been a while since i actively took part in any discussion recently.
largely this has been due to my recent bad health and also due to other things offline.
recently i started a new non webmaster related forum for a community in south india.
i had done a Press Release + i have only 2 incoming links to it – one here and one from webmasters cavern.
Apart from these 2 i have really not done any other promotion of any sort for it – some emails to ppl i know and to group(s) i am part of.
The Press release seems to have done a huge boost in terms of SE crawls and visits.
Google has been and is a constant visitor to the site.
Msn doesnt seems to be far behind and yahoo is also constantly seen on the site.
at this moment, a search for the keyword (which ironically is the site name + the community name) ranks #2 in google and yahoo and #1 in msn.
At this moment, even though i would love to see more active members in the forum (it just 3 weeks old), i am not complaining as SE’s brings in good number of visitors and its only a matter of time before, i think, i start to a good number of new registrations.
PR seems to have done the trick so far
probably i will take out another Press release later on to see whats happening.
if u have a similar experience do share it here plz.
got my broadband and here i am back online
i sold webstatservice.com today.
i received an email from the host today saying the site is using excessive resource and they wanted me to move to a dedicated hosting plan. but i cant afford that now so i sold the site for $150.
i bought the name for $12 + script was already bought for another site. so profit for me.
also, check out www.smsslang.com – a nice new site which i bought before leaving.
i am hoping to spend some time on it later this week or next week.
thats all for now. later
